Swiss Airlines partners with Too Good To Go Switzerland

A while back, we already wrote on this website about the food waste fighting app Too Good to Go. The app is taking Switzerland by storm with many big companies cooperating the organisation to reduce food waste. Now, Too Good to Go announced they are partnering up with yet another well known Swiss brand: Swiss Airlines.

In our earlier article, we already outlined that the Too Good to Go app is a great way to save on meals while visiting Switzerland, while also joining the food waste fighting alliance!

As an international airline company, Swiss Airlines offers a wide range of fresh products on their flights. While the airline already monitors food sales on these flights to ensure as little food as possible remains unsold, they are not going even further. In a new partnership with Too Good to Go Switzerland, passengers on the last flights of the day leaving Geneva can buy surprise food bag.

Discounted surprise food bags

These food bags will contain up to three fresh food items that otherwise potentially would’ve been thrown away. Now, these food items get sold to passengers for a third of the regular sales price. The availability of these Too Good to Go surprise bags are announced through the inflight announcement systems.

“The first results from these trials have been promising,” says Swiss Airlines’ Head of Western Switzerland Romain Vetter. “The new approach has been well received by our passengers on the flights concerned. We’re now awaiting a final analysis of the trials’ findings to decide if we should extend it to further routes.”

Swiss Airlines is an international airlines that is part of the Lufthansa Group. The airlines serves more than a hundred destinations all over the world. It has both Geneva Airport and Zürich Airport as its hub. You can read more about the partnership with Too Good to Go in the press release.
